IT WAS A SUCCESS!!! The main Christmas event in the "Clínica del Oriente" received help from many volunteers, we offered pizza, popcorn, cotton candy, and activities to all the children and gifts. The children showed their appreciation and shared this special moment with us. There were over 200 children in this amazing event. Thanks to the foundation Pasos de Esperanza and the many volunteers who helped in this Christmas event.

We are very happy to have had our first event of the Christmas season 2016 with the foundation Angels of Love, located in La Ceja. We were with 28 girls who unfortunately do not have the help of their parents and live together in this foundation. We shared with them many joys, activities, recreation, snacks and gifts where they showed us their gratitude for being able to celebrate Christmas.

Camila is already 15 years old, she is going through a very complicated health situation, unfortunately her illness is terminal and her biggest dream to fulfill was her 15th birthday party. Steps Of Hope made this possible for her and her family. A pre-party Mass was celebrated. Then in the party we had Music, dinner for the guests, and a dance for Camila with her father. Finishing the party we had a show of mariachis and miniteka. There were many tears, but all of happiness, what Camila and her family felt on this day was indescribable.

Isabel Bedoya, a 10-year-old girl, currently living at the Angeles de Amor foundation located in La Ceja, Colombia. She has no family to help her with the dental treatment that she needs, which prevents her from speaking in proper manner because of a problem with her teeth. Steps of Hope will begin a process with Isabel to help her with her orthodontic treatment.

Manuel Ortega is a 2-year-old child who currently has a variety of health problems. Unfortunately, he has an infantile cerebral palsy of the spinal cord and a retardation of the psychomotor development. Steps of Hope is beginning with the help of Manuel, granting him the necessary therapies to improve his mobility and speech.

It was an incredible feeling we had with this event. All the girls from the orphanage who do not have family were very excited and happy with our arrival. For these girls spending time with them is the closest to having a family and spending a more joyful Christmas. We celebrated a very beautiful Christmas day, we took Santa Claus to play with the girls and we gave a gift to each girl for Christmas, all the girls were very grateful.

Esteban Ramirez, a 12 year old boy who has different health problems, currently suffers from severe obesity that prevents him from doing many activities that he wants to do. In addition, he suffers from a high degree form of autism. Steps of Hope is helping him throughout his recovery and medication process in order to change his life quality to a better one.

Emanuel Ortiz is a 3 year old boy that suffers from a non-specified mental disorder due to a cerebral lesion. Due to this disorder he has trouble speaking and walking. The foundation Pasos de Esperanza has been helping the young boy in two different ways: We made the donation of speech therapies for his speech development. Also, we made the donation of a special walker to learn to walk and gain strength in his legs. It was a great moment when Emmanuel received his walker, it was like giving him a new car.

HALLOWEEN !!! Spectacular to have shared this day with more than 200 children who unfortunately do not live with their parents, to see joy and smiles on the face of each child when we spent time with them is priceless. We were delivering sweets to the children and enjoying the circus with them.

We are very happy to have helped Omar. Because of his illness (muscular dystrophy) he could not get up from his bed and spent all the time locked in the clinic where he lives. Now his quality of life will be better and we hope that with this wheel chair donated by Steps of Hope, specially designed for him, he will enjoy other environments and experience new things in his life. He had a beautiful, big smile on his face when the Steps of Hope foundation surprised him with his new wheel chair.

Felipe Ortiz, who unfortunately does not live or has the support of his parents, had a hernia in his abdomen that prevented him from performing certain movements. We decided to help him with this surgery to improve Felipe's life, he had an Orquidopexy and now his quality of life is better. A couple of weeks later was his birthday, already fully recovered from the surgery we spent some time with him celebrating it in the best way.

The Christmas event was made by the foundation Steps of Hope for all the children in the Hospital Pablo Tobón Uribe. Many of these children have been hospitalized for months and do not have the opportunity to go out or play because of the severity of their illness. The event was a success, we shared with the children an afternoon full of games, puppets, Santa Claus and most importantly, we saw in each child a gratifying smile, forgetting the hard problems they have to face daily.
